Tonkawa school board members Monday night approved changes to the student handbooks for the elementary, midhi and high schools for the coming school year.The changes were outlined by Principals ShaClair Garcia and Kyle Simpson. The handbooks wll be carried online this year and no printed copies will be available.In other action, board members Jerry Hook, Tyler Langston and Nancy Appleman (Casey McAninch and Brian Bowling were absent):-- Approved Jona Cantrell as the Child Nutrition authorized user for the school system.-- Approved Jona Cantrell as minutes clerk/encumbrance clerk and Jennifer Murphy as treasurer/activity fund custodian/deputy minutes clerk for the school system.-- Approved Superintendent Lori Simpson as purchasing agent for the school district and authorized representative for all federal and state programs and all other programs and activities not listed.-- Approved 2021-22 encumbrances totalling $1,270.71 with $1,102.71 from the general fund and $168 from the bond fund.-- Approved 2022-23 encumbrances totalling $784,743.19 with $532,011.19 from the general fund, $1,740 from the building fund and $250,992 from the child nutrition fund.-- Approved renewal of the sublease agreement dated sept. 1, 2012 between the District and Kay County Public Buildings authority for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023 as required under the provision of the agreement.-- Approved a contract between the district and OKTLE for the new school year to provide teacher evaluation systems.-- Approved the memo of understanding between the SHARE program at Pioneer Technology Center and the school system.
