Tonkawa school board, meeting Monday, June 10, approved temporary appropriations for the 2019-20 school year at $5,575,456 for the general fund, $217,939 for the building fund and $298,118 for the child nutrition fund.
Superintendent Lori Simpson said the appropriation represents 85% of the total funds available.as rcommended by the school auditor.
In other action, board members Cara Beth Johnson, Jill McAninch, Mary Allan and Nancy Appleman: (Jerry Hook was absent)
-- Approved bills totalling $55,187.27 with $38,466.79 from the general fund, $579.03 from the building fund and $16,141.45 from the lunch fund.
-- Approved a quote for property, comprehensive general liability, professional legal liability, crime and automobile insurance policies of $92,487 from the state insurance fund.
-- Approved out of state travel for Jamie Means and the high school girls basketball team to Rolla, Mo., for team camp.
-- Approved 17 open transfers for the next school year.
-- Approved a contract between tPS and Municipal Accounting Systems.
-- Approved a website service agreement between Gabbart Communications and tPS at a cost of $3,600 a year which includes E-Notes.
-- Approved a contract between TPS and Precision Testing Laboratories at a cost of $600 per year.
-- Approved a contract between TPS and JD McCarty Center for children with developmental disabilities for the next school year at $60 per hour on ITV.
-- Approved a TPS membership to the oklahoma State school Board association.
-- Approved a TPS membership to the National Association of Federally Impacted schools at a cost of $394 per year.
-- Approved a TPS membership to Oklahoma association serving impacted schools at a cost of $1,000 per year.
-- Approved a TPS membership in the Organization of Rural Oklahoma schools at a cost of $600 per year.
County Democrats meet on June 20th
The Kay County Democratic Party will be having a meeting on Thursday, June 20, in the west Seminar Room at Pioneer Tech. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m.
There will not be a guest speaker at this meeting. The group will be doing some long-range planning for future meetings and events. There will be a report on the recent Oklahoma State Democratic Party Convention. There will also be having an open discussion on issues that are important to Democrats both locally and nationally. All Democrats are invited to come and participate in the planning and discussions.
