The Tonkawa school board, meeting in special session Thursday, July 27, hired a new food management firm.A contract with Taher, Inc. was approved for the 2023-24 school year. Lunches will go up to $4.36 and breakfast will be $2.18.Shauna Strub, regional vice president for Taher, Inc. and regional Chef Josh Lankford were both present.In other action, board members Brian Bowling, Tyler Langston and Melanie Bellinghausen (Jerry Hook and Casey McAninch were absent): -- Approved an invoice for $48,801 for Joe D. Hall General Contractors on the cafeteria project. Supt. Lori Simpson said the cafeteria completion date is Nov. 15, 2024.--Voted to renew the Qualified Zone Academy bond lease for sound equipment at the Event Center.-- Voted to close purchase orders totalling $44,212.91 which will go back into the general fund.
