Tonkawa school board members Monday night approved new substitute teachers and a Title I resource teacher for the 23-24 school year.Board members Brian Bowling, Jerry Hook and Casey McAninch were present. Absent were Melanie Bellinghausen and Tyler Langston.Approved as new substitute teachers on the recommendation of Superintendent Lori Simpson were Jessica Reed, James Roth, Megan Schatz, and Randa Schuermann. The new Title I Resource teacher is Lindsey Perkins.In other action, the board: -- Approved encumbrances of $206,717.67 from the general fund; $240 from the building fund; and $2,534.05 from the child nutrition fund.-- Approved an invoice of $3,772.06 to Renaissance Architecture. -- Approved an invoice of $216,640 to Joe D. Hall Construction.-- Approved an expenditure for THS student council.-- Approved a new felony records search policy. -- Approved a schedule for 2024 regular board meetings as follow: Wednesday, Jan. 10; Monday, Feb. 12, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10; Wednesday, June 26; and Mondays Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9.-- Approved protocol for mental health crisis. -- Approved the final general fund operating budget for the 2024 fiscal year.-- Approved making application for E-rate and Impact Aid. Supt. Simpson gave a new enrollment report -- 799 total students grades K-12 with 414 at the elementary school, 177 at the middle school and 208 in high school.
