Councilman Scott Klufa recently moved outside of the City Limits of Tonkawa and can no longer serve on the City Council. Scott represented Ward 4. Vacancies on the City Council are filled by an appointment by the four remaining City Councilmembers.He resigned at the Dec. 21 meeting of the mayor and city council. His term runs through April, 2023. If the council does not appoint one within 60 days a special election will be held.Rick Allan, who previously held that ward four post, was re-appointed at the Jan. 18th meeting. The nominee will serve until the next city wide election, April of 2023 and then stand for re-election for a four-year term.Ward 4 consists of that portion of the city limits enclosed within the following described boundaries: All that part of the city lying east of the center line of Main Street and lying south of the center line of Grand Avenue; and east of a line which line shall begin at the intersection of the center lines of Main street and Grand Avenue and extend south to the south city limits of the city and which line shall coincide with and be parallel to the center line of Main Street, and south of a line which line shall begin at the intersection of the center lines of Main street and Grand Avenue and extend east to the east city limits of the city and which line shall coincide with and be parallel to the center line of Grand Avenue.
