Northern Oklahoma College announced scholarships awards for Tonkawa High School students at the Tonkawa High School
Awards Assembly on May 21.
They include the following scholarships:
Freshman Regent’s scholarship--This scholarship is a tuition waiver valued at $850 per year and the student may re-apply for the Sophomore Regents scholarship the following year. Receiving a Freshman Regent’s Scholarship are Brandon Alexander, Wiley
Cooper, Evan Glasgow, and Samuel Jacobs.
The following participation scholarships are awarded to students joining in fine arts and athletics on the NOC Tonkawa Campus.
Roustabouts Music Scholarship – This scholarship was awarded to Jamison Burns, Austin Nephew and Carli Pendleton.
Cheerleading -- Brandi Lindley
Clarence Helton Memorial Scholarship – The scholarship was established by Marilee Helton. This scholarship fund is in loving memory of her husband, Clarence Helton, who was a long-time business owner of Tonkawa and employed high school students.
The recipient of this scholarship must be a Tonkawa High School graduating senior who is a full-time student with at least a 2.5 grade point average. Receiving the Clarence Helton Memorial scholarship valued at $500 a semester is Brandon Alexander.
Zody Family Scholarship – The scholarship was established through the generous support of Charles Zody, the establishment of this fund will provide students from the community of Tonkawa an opportunity to pursue their education goals at the Northern
Oklahoma College Tonkawa campus. Receiving the Zody Family
Scholarship valued at $500 is Cameron Grein and Katlynn Rothgeb.
Hugh McIntyre Scholarship—This scholarship is awarded to
Tonkawa High school graduate and is valued at $500, Receiving the Hugh McIntyre scholarship is Brady Hook.
Melvin and Margaret Korn Scholarship—The Korn scholarship was established to honor the memory of their parents. Bill Korn,
Janet Korn McCarter and Joann Korn Black originated this fund to help Tonkawa High School graduates continue their education into college. The recipient must be enrolled full-time and have at least a 3.0 grade-point average and is valued at $500 a semester. Receiving the Melvin and Margaret Korn Scholarship is Evan Glasgow.
Carol Diemer Memorial Scholarship—The Carol Diemer
Scholarship Fund was established through the generous support of friends and family, this scholarship will benefit female students majoring in Business or Ag Business at Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa. Carol deeply cared for Northern Oklahoma College and the Tonkawa community. It is the Diemer Family’s wish to honor Carol’s legacy and assist students pursuing their educational goals at Northern. Receiving the Carol Diemer Memorial Scholarship, valued at $500 a semester is Brandi Lindley.
