The Northern Oklahoma College Board of Regents met Wednesday at the Renfro Center in Tonkawa providing an update on the search for a new NOC president.
Regent Chair Jodi Cline reported that the Presidential Search Committee has met and has more meetings planned for next week.
She said that from an original 22 applications, the search committee is in the process of narrowing the list to three applicants.
Cline said the three finalists for the position will meet with NOC employees and community stakeholders for a meet and greet and Town Hall on April 20, April 21, and April 23. Current President Dr. Cheryl Evans is retiring June 30.
In other business, the regents heard a report from Vice President for Financial Affairs Anita Simpson reported that residential housing rates will not change for the 2021-22 school year. Simpson also reported to the regents that NOC’s annual financial report submitted to the Higher Learning Commission was a positive ratio in the zone required by HLC for the fiscal fitness of the institution.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Pam Stinson reported that the modified in-person graduation is set for May 1. There will be two ceremonies at Tonkawa scheduled for 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and for Enid/Stillwater graduates at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Nurses’ Pinning for all three campuses will be at Briggs Auditorium at 7 p.m. at NOC Enid.
Vice President for Development & Community Relations Sheri Snyder reported that the Distinguished Alumni Induction ceremony held March 27 went well and that plans are currently underway to hold modified in-person events for graduation, academic award banquets, employee service awards, and employee retirement recognition.
Vice President for Enrollment Management Dr. Rick Edgington added that enrollment letters have been sent to prospective students for Fall 2021 and also high school students were contacted in regards to Concurrent Enrollment. He said 7,800 letters were sent to prospective students and 4,400 letters were sent to high school students promoting concurrent enrollment.
The next meeting is Wednesday, May 12, at the Renfro Center at NOC Tonkawa.
