Museum Hours for Homecoming
The McCarter Museum will be open on Friday, October 23 from 1:00 p m to 6:00 p m and Saturday October 24th from 1:00 to 3:00 p m. If visitors want to come at other times, please call the numbers listed on the door.
The museum hopes out of town alumni and community members will come visit the museum during the Homecoming weekend of activities.
Lions Club meets today
Tonkawa Lions meeting each Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the Heritage Room at the First National Bank of Oklahoma.
Haunted Sale barn opens
The Haunted Sale Barn, located at the dead end of Seventh Street in Tonkawa, will be open Friday, Oct. 16 from 8-11 p.m. Cost is $10 per victim.
Other hours include Oct. 17, 8-11; Oct. 22, 8-10 half price night; Oct. 23, 8-11; Oct. 24, 8-11; Oct. 28, 8-10; Oct. 29, 8-10; Oct. 23, 8-10; Oct. 30, 8-11; and Oct. 31, 8-11. There will be a limited concession stand.
Pfeiffer, Luttrell to Speak at OK2A
Oklahoma 2nd Amendment Association - Kay County Chapter schedules the next meeting for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 12:00 Noon at New Hope Christian Fellowship - 401 S. Lincoln - Ponca City. Guests Speakers are Rep. John Pfeiffer and Rep. Ken Luttrell to discuss the upcoming Legislative Session and answer questions. Mayor Brian Hobbs of Newkirk will discuss Tips for Prepping. Get your Tonkawa Buc face masks!
A new shipment of Tonkawa Buccaneer face masks are available at the Central Office at the Tonkawa Mid-Hi/Highschool site. Masks may be purchased for $10 each Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm. Go Bucs!!
No computers at library
Until further notice, the Tonkawa Public Library will no longer offer access to public computers. This is a precaution taken to keep both the patrons and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The library building is open only for those wishing to check out or return materials, fax, or have copies made. The library building is not available for the following activities: Sitting, resting, chatting, studying, meetings, cell phone use, laptop or tablet use.
Donate to weight room project
The Tonkawa Alumni Association is conducting a fund drive for the 2019 weight room project for Buccaneer athletics, president David Fruits said this week. Make checks payable to the Tonkawa Alumni Association, P.O. Box 12, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
