McCarter Museum open Monday
The McCarter Museum will be open on Monday evening, aug. 3, at 6:30 p.m. before the Full Moon concert. Community and visitors are invited to stop by and visit the museum from 6:30-7:30 p.m. There are several new displays.
No computers at library
Until further notice, the Tonkawa Public Library will no longer offer access to public computers. This is a precaution taken to keep both the patrons and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The library building is open only for those wishing to check out or return materials, fax, or have copies made.
The library building is not available for the following activities: Sitting, resting, chatting, studying, meetings, cell phone use, laptop or tablet use.
Hillcrest Ensemble to perform Monday
“Hillcrest Ensemble” will perform “The Great American Songbook” at the upcoming Full Moon Concert Friday, August 3 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand in Tonkawa at 7:30 p.m. Eight area musicians will present American Standards – including classics such as Blue Moon, Heart and Soul, Sentimental Journey, Georgia on my Mind, All of Me, In the Mood, On the Sunny Side of the Street and more popular favorites. Guest vocalists for the evening are Abby Davis, Kate Branstetter and Mallory Stolhand.
THS alumni meets Tuesday
Tonkawa High School Alumni Association will meet Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 5:30 pm in the THS Library..
Back-to-school immunizations offered
The Kay County Health Department will be providing back to school immunizations by appointment July 27th – July 31st.
To schedule an appointment for your child’s back-to-school immunizations, please call the Kay County Health Department at 580-762-1641. If your child has received immunizations somewhere other than the County Health Department, please provide a copy of their immunization record prior to the day of the appointment. This will assist in reducing your wait time.
Youth football sign-ups taken
Tonkawa Youth Football sign-up will be July 1-31 for grades 1-6. For signups and more information go online to tonkawachamber.org and check them out on TYS facebook page.
Chamber sets annual car show
The Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce has set its annual “Good Vibrations” car show for saturday, Aug. 15, at Blinn Park. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a bicycle show to coincide. Questions: Call 628-2220.
