Tonkawa Library changing hours
To better serve the community, the Tonkawa Public Library will be changing their hours to open earlier 3 days of the week. The change in open hours is based on public feedback and recent patterns of library use. Beginning February 1, 2020 the new hours will be Monday and Tuesday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Wednesday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m .- 1 p.m.
Newkirk basketball game Monday
The Tonkawa-Newkirk basketball game has been re-scheduled, High School Principal Kyle Simpson announced.
It will be played on Monday, Feb. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Tonkawa Event Center.
Father-daughter dance Saturday
The annual Father-Daughter Dance, “Moonlight Memories,” will be held 7-9 p.m. Feb. 15, at the Tonkawa Methodist Church Family Center. dJ Brody with special guest Ciara Brooke will be featured. There will be $1 chances to win special baskets.
Cost is $25 per couple with $5 for additonal date or $30 at the door. Sign-up forms can be picked up at the grade school or high school offices. Questions? Call 580.823.2539. Proceeds will benefit senior class after prom and other activities.
Democrat women will meet
The Kay County Federation of Democratic Women will again be meeting the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. These meetings will precede the County Democratic Party meetings held at the Pioneer Tech seminar room.

Tonkawa Lions meet each Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NOC cafeteria.

The Kay County Caregivers support group meets from 4-6 p.m. the first Monday of every month at 118 S. Seventh, Tonkawa, across the street from the Tonkawa city offices.
