Chair-ity Event tonight
The North Central Oklahoma Arts Council’s 6th Anniversary Chair-ity Event is being held Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Tonkawa Casino Pool.
The special guest is musical ambassador Kyle Dillingham and guitarist Peter Markus. It will be Dillingham’s third time to appear at the Chair-ity Event.
The annual event raises funds for arts grants in North Central Oklahoma within 30 miles of Tonkawa and Northern Oklahoma College students.

My Friend’s Closet Drop Off
Tonkawa Elementary School will be doing My Friend’s Closet again this year. This program is a fall/winter clothing drive designed to clothe families in our community. Drop off times for My Friend’s Closet will be at T.E.S. from October 17th – 25th between 8:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. on school days. We will be accepting clean, gently used fall and winter clothing, shoes, bags, purses, and books. We are also accepting Halloween costumes in order to distribute for Halloween. Clothing sizes that we are accepting are sizes birth to teen. Parents will be able to come and shop during parent/teacher conferences. Mini-Cheer clinic Oct. 1-3
High school cheerleaders are sponsoring a Mini-Cheer clinic for grades PK through fifth grade. Come learn cheers, chants and a dance. The $25 cost of the clinic includes a t-shirt.
The group will meet Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 1-3, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the elementary gym. The group will perform with the high school cheerleaders on Friday, Oct.

Flu shot clinic set Oct. 10th
The annual flu shot clinic will be Thursday, Oct. 10, from 12:30-2 p.m. at the wheatheart Nutrition center, 118 S. seventh, Tonkawa. It is free wth Medicare or other insurance or $25 without Medicare or other insurance. shots will be administered by Derrick Jones, pharmacist, Family Discount Pharmacy.
Tonkawa will give ACT test
Tonkawa Public Schools will be giving the ACT test in the spring of 2020 to eligible juniors as part of the state contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Education and ACT. Last year over 95% of Oklahoma schools selected to administer the ACT.
