A new fourth grade teacher has been hired at Tonkawa Public Schools.
Reagann Murphy will be teaching fourth grade here, it was recommended by Superintendent Lori Simpson and Principal Kelly Martin.
The hiring was approved by the Tonkawa Board of Education at its Monday meeting.
In other action, board members Cara Beth Johnson, Nancy Appleman, Jerry Hook and Mary Allan (Casey McAninch was absent):
-- Approved a presentation by Ricardo Soto of First National Bank on recommended changes to the Tonkawa Public schools banking procedures. Bank President Brad Purdy was also present. The board opted to accept the ICS (Insured Cash Sweep) service with three counts and a $250,000 threshold on each.
-- Approved warrants totalling $682,600.17 with $96,435.79 from the general fund, $4,120.27 from the building fund, $21,279.11 from the child nutrition fund, $8,265 from bond fund 34, and $552,500 from sinking fund 41.
-- Approved the Oklahoma School Insurance group quote for property, comprehensive general liability, professional legal liability, crime and automobile insurance policies.
-- Approved removing Sarah Machia from access to all banking rights and assigning banking rights to Tonkawa Public schools Treasurer Jennifer Murphy.
-- Approved open transfers for the new school year.
-- Approved a contract between the district and Precision Testing Laboratories for the new school year.
-- Approved a contract between the district and the J.D. McCarty Center for children with developmental disabilities for the new school year.
-- Approved a new contract for Pat Carroll of Charles W. Carroll auditing Firm to audit the distrct for the 2019-20 year.
-- Approved membereship for the district to the Oklahoma State School Boards Association.
-- Approved membership for the district to the Oklahoma Association Serving Impacted schools.
-- Approved membership for the district to the Organization of rural Oklahoma schools.
-- Approved a cooperative agreement for title III, Part A between the district and blackwell public schools.
-- Approved temporary appropriations for the new fiscal year.
