The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Kay County, Oklahoma, met in regular session at 9:00 o’clock a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020, the meeting was posted for public information on January 24, 2020, at 8:50 a.m. on the Courthouse front door, Commissioners Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County
Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
Chairman John Wilson called the meeting to order. Those present were as follows: Jason Shanks, Member;
Jack Godberson, Member; Brian Hermanson, District Attorney (DA); Steve
Kelley, County Sheriff; Susan Keen,
County Assessor; Brenda Medlock,
OSU Extension Agent; Cheryl Howard,
Election Board Secretary; Skylar Matthew and Kaila Davis, Kaw Nation;
Jessica Windom, Ponca City News;
Claude Williams, Taxpayers for Transparency; Tammy Reese, Secretary/Kay
County Clerk. (See sign in sheet).

Motion was made by Godberson and seconded by Shanks approving regular meeting minutes of January 21, 2020 and special meeting minutes of January
23, 2020. Motion carried: Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye; Shanks, aye.
Report given by Donna Parker, Oklahoma Court Services, presenting the number of community service hour’s defendants are working and the projects the are involved in: Ms. Parker reported new community service clients-5, regular community service clients turned in for the month-64, sanction community service hours completed-160, total hour completed-1026 and community service offender completions17. Completed Events: My Favorite Things,
Friendship Feast, New Hope Christian
Church, Lake Ponca, Second Baptist
Church, Ponca City Humane Society,
Habitat for Humanity and House of Refuge where clients assisted with cleaning and many other various duties. Upcoming Events: Albright United Methodist

Mission, Ponca City Humane Society,
Fish and Loaves Food Pantry, Wheat-heart Nutrition and Friendship Feast.
Motion was made by Godberson and seconded by Shanks approving reimbursement claim for Election Board
Secretary Salary for the month of January 2020. Motion carried: Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye; Shanks, aye.
Motion was made by Shanks and seconded by Godberson approving
Agreements between the BOCC and the following to have remote terminal capabilities with the Assessor’s office.
DA Hermanson approved as to form:
Redbud Appraisal Service, LLC; Stewart Escrow & Title Service of Ponca
City, Inc.; Carrie Dover.

County Treasurer’s Summary of Collections December 2019 Monthly Report. Motion carried: Godberson, aye;
