The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Kay County, Oklahoma, met in regular session at 9:00 o’clock a.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, the meeting was posted for public information on May 31, 2019, at 8:50 a.m. at the
Courthouse front door, Commissioners
Court, and basement handicapped entrance of the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
Chairman Jack Godberson called the meeting to order. Those present were as follows: John A. Wilson, Member; Jason Shanks, Member; Billie Chrz, First
Assistant District Attorney (ADA); Kay
County Assessor Susan Keen; Christy
Kennedy, Kay County Treasurer; Dennis Bonewell, Kay County Emergency
Management Director; Glen Nickles,

Reese, Secretary/Kay County Clerk.

Chairman Jack Godberson led the
Flag Salute.
Motion was made by Shanks and seconded by Wilson approving regular meeting minutes of May 28, 2019. Motion carried: Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye; Shanks, aye.
Motion was made by Shanks and seconded by Wilson approving Software Lease & Maintenance Agreement by and between the Kay County
Treasurer and TM Consulting. Motion carried: Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye;
Shanks, aye.
Motion was made by Shanks and seconded by Wilson approving Detention Transportation FY2020 Contract by and between the Oklahoma Office of
Juvenile Affairs and the BOCC. Motion carried: Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye;
Shanks, aye.
Motion was made by Shanks and seconded by Wilson approving Contract for Supervision of Community
Service by and between the BOCC and
Northern Oklahoma Court Services,
LLC. Motion carried:
Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye;
Shanks, aye.
Motion was made by Godberson and seconded by Shanks approving
Reimbursement Claim for the Election
Board Secretary Salary for the month of
May 2019. Motion carried: Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye; Shanks, aye.
Motion was made by Shanks and seconded by Godberson approving giving eight (8) stainless steel toilets and sink combo from the old jail (on 4th floor of courthouse) to the Kay County
Detention Center for use in dorms. Motion carried: Godberson, aye; Wilson, aye; Shanks, aye.
Road and Bridge Projects/Circuit
Engineering District (CED) No. 8 Road and Bridge Projects:
Commissioner Godberson told his crews have been hauling material to roads, cleaning out logs jammed in culverts, checking roads for flood damage, built 24 new barricades, putting up and taking down signs for flooding, putting up concrete barricades on Hubbard Rd. and Chikaskia Bridge and removing guard rails on Chikaskia.
Commissioner Shanks said his crews have been spot blading and repairing and fixing springs.
