Martha Cocklin, Tracy Graham, Julie Montgomery, and Heather Smith, Paraprofessionals at USD 265-Eisenhower High School, were honored with Attitude Awards at a recent Board of Education meeting. Jolene Kaufman, EHS Staff, wanted to recognize them for their hard work in her classroom.
Martha Minor Cocklin was recently honored at a Goddard Public Schools Board meeting for the work she does as a Paraprofessional working with students in Wichita, Kansas. Cocklin graduated from THS in 1978.
“I would like to nominate Martha Cocklin, Tracy Graham, Julie Montgomery and Heather Smith for the Attitude Award,” Ms. Kaufman said.
“Their dedication to our students, this program, as well as the Cooperative and Goddard Eisenhower - is unsurpassed and should not go unrecognized. They work with students in challenging situations giving each one of them an opportunity that they might not otherwise get. In addition, they battle the weather elements - the heat, the cold, wind, rain, snow, and ice. Not to mention pumping gas once a week into their CBI cars in the crazy Kansas weather, scraping frost / ice off windshields on cold winter mornings, dealing with flat or low tires, engine lights coming on, dead batteries and car parts that don’t always function properly. They build relationships in the community with our participating employers and represent Goddard Eisenhower and the Cooperative in a way that should make us all proud. I am blessed to have each of them assigned to me and to the VSN at Eisenhower. program
They hit the ground running and are on the front line every day doing what is best for our kids and, doing it with a positive attitude!
“I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize each one of them and the job they do! “
Thank you for all you do for our USD 265 students!”
