The Kay County Democratic Party will be meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be in the West Seminar Room at Pioneer Tech. in Ponca City.Our speaker is the Democrat Candidate for Corporation Warigia Margaret Bowman, associate professor at the University of Tulsa College of Law. Dr. Bowman teaches energy law, water law, natural resources law and administrative law. She was a Harry S. Truman Scholar at Columbia College, the Barbara Jordan Scholar at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and the Oppenheimer Scholar at the Hauser Scholar for Nonprofit organizations at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she earned her Ph.D.Dr. Bowman has extensive law and policy experience in local, state and federal government, as well as the non-profit sector. She served as an Honors Trial Attorney in the Environmental and Natural Resources Division of the US Department of Justice under Attorney General Janet Reno, where she litigated environment cases in federal courts nationwide.Dr. Bowman is an impressive candidate for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner. The public is invited to attend. Elections are important and informed voters are even more important in the American Democracy that has existed for 246 years.
