The Kay County Democratic Party will hold a joint Precinct and County Convention on Saturday, April 6th. The convention will be held at Pioneer Tech in Room B131 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All Democrats in Kay County are invited to attend and participate in this important organizational meeting.
Every two years, the Oklahoma Democratic Party elects new leadership, votes on the State Party Resolutions (Platform) and makes any changes to the By-laws governing the party. The Precinct Meeting is where the officers for each precinct are elected. There are 28 precincts in Kay County and each precinct can elect 3 officers.
The precinct officers in turn, form the County Convention. The County Convention elect the new county chair, vice chair, and secretary. They also elect five delegates to the congressional and state conventions.
Participating in this process is a great way to learn about what the county party has done and to help make plans for the coming two years.
If you are interested in the Resolution process, the Resolutions Committee will be meeting at 9:00 a.m. in room B134.
