Damorney Hutchinson scored three goals and the Mavericks needed all of them to slip past a quality Dodge City team 4-3 Saturday in Tonkawa.The win improved the #19 Mavs to 4-0 on the season.Kareem Williams also scored for the Mavs on an unassisted second half goal. Brayan Rodriguez and Jesus Aleman added assists for NOC.Saturday’s game was tied at 3-3 when Hutchinson’s third goal came on a Penalty Kick with just :08 left in the game giving NOC the 4-3 dramatic win.“Dodge City is a very well coached, classy team,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “I applaud them. They played very well today. The game could have gone either way. It was the first time this year we have really been challenged and that was great for us. Damorney (Hutchinson) is so dangerous. Anytime he gets the ball he has a chance to score.”“We can learn a lot from this game,” he added. “We need to tweak a few things in how we defend up front.”The Mavs are at home Thursday in a conference game against Rose State at 4 p.m.
