Mayor Ken Smith said, “Tonkawa residents and visitors will be able to watch this significant engineering and construction project proceed over the next year. When finished, it will be the most modern and uniquely family friendly pool in Kay county. There will be opportunities for young children’s play activities, youth and adult swimming lessons, and exercise and fitness training.” NOC President Dr. Clark Harris noted that “The Aquatic Center will be a great addition to the community, not only benefiting Tonkawa residents and families, but also the college community.” The Aquatic Center is projected to open in May 2022.
