The 22nd annual Lucky Duck Derby was held on July 4, 2022, immediately following the downtown Tonkawa parade. This was the THS Alumni Association’s 9th Duck Derby. Two thousand two hundred and eighty seven ducks floated down the canal between North Avenue and Grand Avenue. The THS Alumni Association partnered with the Tonkawa Masonic Lodge for this year’s event. Proceeds will go toward THS Senior scholarships and THS Alumni projects. The winners this year are as follows: Grand prize winner, Duck #681, Candy Oller, won the $750 VISA prepaid gift card donated by A-Line TDS in Tonkawa, OK. First place winner, Duck #381, Janice Houston, won a $500 VISA prepaid gift card donated by First National Bank of Oklahoma in Tonkawa. Second place winner, Duck #214, Shelby Johnston, won a $500 VISA prepaid gift card donated by Schatz Strategy Group in Blackwell. Third place winner, Duck # 1757, Amy Muegge, won the Custom Opalescence Teeth Whitening System ($396 value) donated by Sarah Campell’s Dental Office in Tonkawa. Fourth place winner, Duck #1015, Brighton Lee, won a $300 VISA prepaid gift card donated by an anonymous donor. Fifth place winner, Duck #2088, Luke Allen, won a 216 piece Craftsman SAE/Metric Mechanics Tool set donated by NAPA Owen’s Auto Supply in Tonkawa. Sixth place winner, Duck #1476, Nanette Lane, won the $250 VISA prepaid gift card donated by Hembree & Hodgson Construction in Ponca City. Seventh place winner, Duck #1042, Paul Spoon, won a $200 VISA prepaid gift card donated by O-K Bit in Tonkawa. Eighth place winner, Duck #498, Mary Ladd, won a 2022-2023 Tonkawa High School Activity Pass ($150 value) donated by Tonkawa High School in Tonkawa. Ninth place winner, Duck #1464, Brian Hermanson, won a 2022-2023 Tonkawa High School Activity Pass donated by Tonkawa High School, in Tonkawa.
