The annual Lucky Duck Derby sponsored by the Tonkawa High School Alumni Association, who is partnering with the Tonkawa Masonic Lodge for this event, will be held on Sunday, July 4th, immediately following the parade downtown Tonkawa at the canal on West Grand Avenue just west of the Christian Church.
Ducks can be adopted for the derby at the First National Bank, Gateway First Bank, Chamber Office, Sarah Campbell’s Dental Office, Mike’a Payne d/b/a Plush Salon, Tonkawa Vet Clinic, Tonkawa Library, and from a THS Alumni Board members, Jeremy Owen, Ty Williams, Darren Pendleton, Jill Shackelford, Melinda Glasgow, David Fruits, Debbie Flanery, Michael Flanery, Mike Schatz, Shari Gierhart, Randy Caughlin, Chris LaBlue and Reta Swords. Individuals selling ducks include Debby Randall, Lori Simpson, Pam Linton, Dawn Huff, Michelle Owen, Lea Glenn, Jenny Paul, Megan Schatz and Ruth Jeffries. Ducks may also be adopted at Venture Foods on Saturday, June 19th, through Saturday, July 3rd or until we sell out. We won’t be selling at Venture on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 20th.
The cost to adopt a duck for the Derby is $5.00 each or 5 ducks for $20.00. Proceeds go toward THS Senior scholarships and THS projects. You do not need to be present to win.
