Tonkawa city employees will get bonuses for Christmas, it was decided at the Nov. 16 meeting of the mayor and city council.A motion by Mayor Kenneth Smith was approved as follows:Annual stipend for City of Tonkawa employees full-time employees that have worked since March 2020 will receive a total of $400 in two equal checks. All other full-time employees will receive one check for $200 and the second one pro-rated as follows: $200 divided by 20 months then times the number of months worked since their start date after March 2021. Part-time employees will receive one check for $75 and a second check pro-rated $75 divided by 20 months and times the number of months worked since their start date after March 2021. It was seconded by Charles Conaghan and passed unanimously.In other action, the council approved the following:-- Council meeting dates for 2022.-- The financial report. The city has $14,906.982 in cash available -- $4,590,419 unrestricted and $10,316,563 restricted.-- Adopted an ordinance adding the Building 2018 Codes and 2017 NEC Code.-- Declared a skid steer surplus and instructed the city manager to bid it. The council also approved the purchase of a new one at state bid price of $79,450 from P&K Equipment in Blackwell.-- Approved a bill from Carrothers Construct6ion for materials and supplies and work performed to date on the Tonkawa new aquatic center in the amount of $227,622.38.-- Approved an invoice from Parkhill Smith/Cardinal for $6,500 for hydrogeologist Toinkawa FAP Loan-Wells, treatment plant.-- Hired Jana A. walker to do the annual audit with a fee not to exceed $11,500.
