Candidates for the Board of Education in seven Kay County School Districts filed Declarations of Candidacy December 2-4, 2019.
Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the Kay County Election Board, said the filing period ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 4th with only one candidate filing for the board seat open in Tonkawa -- incumbent Casey McAninch.
The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled April 7, 2020. Since no one filed in Tonkawa, an election is not needed.
