The 2021 Homecoming was a success despite Covid concerns. Although Covid caused cancellation of plans for some reunions, numerous Alumni attended the traditional Friday morning Alumni Coffee and All-class meeting. As always, THS students welcomed visitors to the Event Center and provided a hospitable atmosphere for Alums, their families and friends. Alumni continued reminiscing at the parade, assembly, and football game. On Saturday, Alumni gathered to honor Bruce Robinson, the 2021 Distinguished Alumni.The event began with a social in the Event Center lobby and moved inside for lunch, catered by Mary’s Grill. Shari Giehart gave the invocation. Alumni President David Fruits welcomed Alumni and introduced Alumni Board members. Jill Shackelford then introduced scholarship recipients Skylee Perkins and Colton Anson who expressed gratitude for their scholarships. Robinson was chair of the THS Scholarship Fund Committee when he passed. A video created by Ginger Hunter and narrated by Kitt Hunter charted Robinson’s life and accomplishments followed. Speakers accomplishments, and his leadership on the various boards he led.Judy McComas Robinson and children Kyle Robinson and Kelsey Smith accepted Robinson’s Distinguished Alumni Award. The luncheon ended with door prizes prepared and given out by Reta Swords and the school song led by Vice-President Melinda Glasgow. Diana Reese accompanied on the piano.Current board members are Fruits, Glasgow, Debbie Flannery, Randy Caughlin, Blaine Fath, Giehart , Chris LaBlue, Jeremy Owen, Darren Pendleton, Ty Williams, Mike Schatz, Shackelford and Swords.
