Welcome back to the Tonkawa Buccaneer’s Buc Blab! We have some exciting news about this past week and this weeks events. Starting off with our track team, Tonkawa traveled over to Cherokee for regionals this weekend and we had one amazing turnout. We have a load of competitors that will be heading to state next! There is a bunch of them so here’s the list of people going to state; Roman Chandler, Karlee Jacobs, Talynn Williams, Cam Jackson, Kai Day, Jake Randall, Heidi Hembree, Rachel Means, Dalton Pierce, Blake Bristow, Peyten Keith, Chase Moore, Carlaeona Hockert, Gloria Reyes, and Dante Mendoza. That’s one big list of athletes headed towards state! We wish you all good luck and go get some gold! Great job everyone! Next up is our baseball team. Baseball traveled over to Hominy to play their potentially last two games for their district title, the Bucs weren’t going to let this be the last game to be of the season. The Bucs swept through the first game 14 - 2 and the second game 14 - 4. They shut down the Bucks and are moving onto Regionals to compete and hopefully head towards State! Good luck to our boys this Thursday for Regionals! This Saturday we also had some amazing artist’s from Mrs. Huff’s class that we’re presented their award winning paintings that are displayed on the bottom of the new Kay County Amphitheater’s Flag Pole, they are beautiful paintings that were clay made and put into the concrete below the 30 foot flag pole in Newkirk by the courthouse. If you get the time or travel through there, stop by and look at some of our students art work! That’s it for now, tune in next week for some exciting results!
