County GOP meets tonight
The Kay County Republican Party will meet at 7 p.m. thursday, Nov. 21, at the First Lutheran School inside the cafeteria located at 1104 N. fourth and East Liberty Street, Ponca City. Don Spencer, president of the Oklahoma Second Amendment Association, will be the speaker.
Giving tree apps taken by chamber
The Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce is now taking applications for children 0-18 years old that are in need of some assistance purchasing items for Christmas. This program is confidential and applications can be picked up at the chamber office, 102 E. Grand, Monday-Friday, from 9-4. Only parents or legal guardians should fill out the application. Deadline for applications will be on Dec. 6 and noon. Contact the chamber office at 638-2220 or Shelly Dickover at 628-2265 for any further questions.

Tonkawa Postmaster Mike Newcomb announced the following holiday shipping deadlines for delivery by Dec. 25:

Dec. 9, Zip Code 093 priority mail and first class mail.
Dec. 11, Priority mail and first class mail sevices
Dec. 14, USPS retail ground service
Dec. 18, except zip code 093, USPS priority mail express service
Dec. 20, First class mail service, including greeting cards
Dec. 20, Fist class packages, up to 15.98 ounces
Dec. 21, Priority mail service
Dec. 23, priority mail express service.
Turkey Bingo will be Saturday
Tonkawa High School’s Extended Studies is sponsoring a Turkey Bingo on Saturday, November 23rd in the Tonkawa Elementary School gym. The doors open at 5:00 p.m. and bingo starts at 6:00 p.m. A concession will be open for dinner. New this year is a silent Thanksgiving baked goods auction. Amazing bingo prizes include: An Apple Watch, boy/girl bikes, electronics, cash, Gift cards for local restaurants and stores, OKC & Wichita venues, and so much more. Bingo cards are only $10 or 3 for $25. Come out and support our students’ educational tour of Washington D.C. and The Big Apple. Every winner gets a BONUS Turkey!
Blackwell Thanksgiving meal planned for the second year Brett and Nelda Shipman are bringing the community a FREE Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving day, Nov. 28. This year will be from noon to 3 p.m. or until they run out of food. It will be served at the Kay Room at Kay Electric and will include turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, turkey, gravy, dinner roll and dessert.
