The Billings Chamber of Commerce invites you to the Billings 32nd Annual Wheat Country Festival Saturday, October 9 in the Billings Community Center and on Main Street in downtown Billings, Oklahoma. The fun filled day will begin with the Billings FFA Booster Club Pancake Breakfast in the Billings Community Center from 7:00-9:00 a.m.Opening ceremonies for the festival will begin at 9:00 am. Live stage entertainment throughout the day will include performances from Rachel Crews Silvey, Breanne Stevens, Billings Elementary students, Tonkawa High School music students, a few surprise guests, and the Northern Oklahoma College Roustabouts.Fun filled activities guaranteed to create nostalgia and excitement are scheduled for the day with the Billings Wheat Country Festival Parade featuring Antique Tractors, cars, farming equipment, floats, motorcycles and so much more! We are honored to have H.B. Evans, World War II Veteran and Wilfred Waggoner, Korean War Veteran as Grand Marshalls for the Parade. There will also be a float carrying the citizens of Billings who are 90 years or older, many of which were instrumental in the inception of the Billings Wheat Country Festival 33 years ago.Other activities include a Round Haybale Decorating Contest, Kute Kid Revue, OHCE Bliss Homemakers Pie and Cake Auction, the announcement of the Billings School Prince and Princess, and 30-40 vendor booths in the air-conditioned Community Center and outside. Carnival Games, and other activities including a Wheat Dig, Corn-hole Tournament, Horseshoe Tournament, Mechanical Bull, Bounce House, Hay Wagon Rides, Kid’s Barrell Train, Petting Zoo and more will provide enjoyable opportunities to young and old alike. The Renfrow-Miller Museum will be open for free tours and offer homemade bread and wild sand plum jelly available for purchase. The OBI Blood Mobile will be on site for those wishing to make life-saving blood donations.Several food concessions provided by the Billings High School students will be available and hoping to tempt the Festivalgoer’s palate including Indian Tacos, funnel cakes, walking tacos, frito chili pies, chili dogs and other fair food type items and drinks. The local Catholic Church ladies will be selling homemade chicken and noodles by the quart.
