The Art Center of Tonkawa strives to inspire culture and artistic experiences and in turn enriching the quality of life for each person that enters their doors. They are able to do this by displaying and selling artwork from local artists, hosting events, and fostering a learning environment for the people in the area. One way they are able to engage with the community is their judgement free painting classes for all ages. In fact, coming up on December 10, the art center is hosting a holiday painting class, taught by Ponca City local, Annette Hunt. The class is listed at the affordable rate of $35 per person, which includes supplies to create your own masterpiece and light refreshments for all who attend. During this class, held from 6:30 PM to 8:30 pm, those in attendance will be able to enjoy good company, refreshments, and a helpful learning environment that is both educational and, most importantly, fun!Another opportunity for the art center to connect with the folks of Kay County are through their frequent Thirsty Thursdays. During each Thirsty Thursday event, the people in attendance have the opportunity to browse local art in their gift shop, partake in beverages and light refreshments, and have their very own make and take craft. These events are only priced at $10 per ticket and are great fun. The next Thirsty Thursday event is to be held on Thursday, November 21, from 5 pm to 7 pm.If either of these events interest you, you can purchase tickets or get more information by emailing tonkawaart@gmail.com or by calling 580-628-3390 and leave a message if necessary!
