The Tonkawa High school seniors who will be playing their last game on Maverick field will be honored Friday night at special ceremonies, preceding the Buc-Crescent game when they will be introduced along with their parents.Parents of the seniors will be seated in front of the press box and will be presented to the crowd, along with their player sons. Buc seniors to be recognized are, Duane Green, Kevin Steichen, John Unruh, Ron Magner, Frank Klufa, Rusty Storm, Billy Shaull, Myron Davis, Curtis Muegge and Tony Patterson.The Bucs will meet the Crescent Tigers, currently sixth in the state in Class A and undefeated in six games. They scored 42 points in each of their last two games. They won over Bethany, 42-27 and Chisholm, 12-14.The Bucs will be without the services of Jay Laramy, starting guard and linebacker on Friday night. He suffered a sprained ankle in practice this week and will not play. Expected to start are: Rick Jeans, center, Frank Klufa and Tom Allen, tackles, Mark Detten and Rusty Storm, guards; Curtis Muegge and Jerry Ailey, ends; Shon Simpson, quarterback; Dennis Ailey, fullback and John Unruh and Kevin Steichen, halfbacks.Two THS Freshmen Named Outstanding for October 6, 2024 The Tonkawa High school National Honor Society named two junior high school students as Outstanding Students for October, Wally Walcher and Miss Debbie Daniel.Miss Daniel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Daniel, southwest of city. She is a freshman and is active in band, FHA and junior high basketball. She received eight grade honors in English and science and is a member of the First Baptist church.Walcher is active in band and plays the trumpet. He has been in vocal music the past two years and he is quarterback of the Junior High football team.
