With a total of 7 titles to give away, the Miss Ponca City and Miss Heartland pageant is back and looking for the next young ladies to wear crowns for Oklahoma. Age categories include 4 through 13 for the Littles and ages 14 through 27 for the Miss and Teen contestants. While the Miss and Teen Ponca City categories and the littles must live within a 30 mile radius of Ponca City, the Miss and Teen Heartland contestant is open to all Oklahoma Residents. The deadline to enter these competitions is January 11.The requirements for those interested in signing up for the Miss Ponca City competition are as follows; Contestant must reside within 30 miles of Ponca City, be between the ages of 18 and 27, a citizen of the U.S., a female, never have been married or a parent, and to be able to fulfill the duties and time commitment as set forth by the Miss Ponca City Organization. For the Miss Heartland requirements, all above are true barring the residency within 30 miles of Ponca City.While competing, there will be five phases of the competition and scoring process. The first phase, which is worth 30% of the final score, will be the private interview of the competitor with the judges. Next will be an on-stage conversation worth 10% of their overall score. Following the on-stage conversation will be the health and fitness phase, worth 20% of the score. Talent, also known as HERstory, will follow with another 20% portion of the score.
