Happy Labor Day, friends! We hope you are enjoying a day of relaxation and rest on this beautiful Monday.Always observed on the first Monday in September, Labor Day celebrates the social and economic achievements of workers in the U.S. Declared a federal holiday in 1894, Labor Day honors the hard work that Americans put forth week after week.In the spirit of honoring dedication and hard work, I feel it’s appropriate to give gold stars to two of our amazing volunteers, Vernon and Norma Young.Vernon and Norma have put in countless hours cleaning, organizing and giving a much needed facelift to many of the rooms in the museum. Vernon’s craftsmanship is beautifully displayed through the handcrafted framework and shelving he has built for the museum.Thank you, Vernon and Norma! The historical society is very blessed to have you both.
