I know a lot of people seem to be struggling these days with whatever diet they may be trying to follow. Whether they are off work and spending more time at home or working part-time while juggling children, I undertand the difficulties you are facing. I have been lucky with the fact that I am still working at the office these days, but most of the people working here at The News are now working from home.
I find that the more time I spend at home, which I have been doing every weekend, makes me want to eat everything in the house. It has been a real struggle sometimes. My advice to you if you’re trying to follow lowcarb is to eat more fat. Fat is what keeps you full longer and will help when you get bored and think you are hungry.
I am one of the lucky ones and have dropped 12 pounds since the Safer at Home initiative started. It’s probably good that I’m losing weight because my hair and nails are an absolte mess so a positive there.
Admittingly, I am extremely high maintenance. Those that know me well know I’ll never be any other way from waxing, tanning, nail appointments, hair appointments and more. I am a complete girly-girl. I love dressing up with full make-up and my hair fixed. Although I’m still wearing make-up, my hair is another story. I’m about a week away from having to wear a hat ... I know the women that read this column will understand the struggle bus we are all on. I feel so sorry for Kandas (my hair stylist) when this quarantine is over. My sincerest apologies ahead of time for the nightmare you will be looking at when I first sit in your chair.
OK so enough about me and my struggle bus. Let’s get back to talking about diets. I have literally cooked every single meal in my house for the last 14 days. I honestly don’t remember the last time that happened. I bet I’ve cooked more in the last two weeks than I have in the months before. My poor dishwasher is likely wondering what is going on.
