Steve Varner grew up in Blackwell, Ok and has been in the fire service for 25 years, serving Tonkawa since 2002. He plans to retire from the fire service with-in a year. He is married to Shannon Varner, the director of choral and vocal studies at Northern Oklahoma College. They have two children, Taylor and Hope. Taylor works for American Airlines in Miami, Florida and Hope is an 8th grader at Tonkawa Middle School. Steve enjoys spending time with family, being at his favorite vacation spots, working out and supporting OU and NOC athletic teams.
