They have made copies of the following article for distribution, and the News reprints the information here for public information.)HOW TO ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO USE DRUGS• Never eat together as a family.• Never have family traditions which occur weekly, monthly or annually that your children can look forward to.• Never listen to your children – talk at them but not with them.• Never listen to your children experience cold, fatigue, adventure, injury, risk, challenge, experimentation, failure, frustration, discouragement, etc.• Convince your children of the dangers of drugs while you drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes.• Never give your children any spiritual training, but emphasize the ritual of religion, the outward appearance, and the letter of the law.• When confronted with a choice of either spending your time or money on a material pursuit or on a family activity, always choose the material object.• Continually tell others in front of the child, what great things your “little boy is doing” – and always expect him to win.• Show your children that you disregard the “minor” laws of the land or of your church because of “expediency” or because “no one will know.”• Never correct your children appropriately, but uphold them before the law, school, church and friends as “not my little boy.”• Undermine the role of the father in the home – never have the father’s influence in the home – stay together for the sake of the children – or better yet get a divorce.• Go to the medicine cabinet for relief continually.• Always pick up after him – never let him take any responsibility.• Always solve his problems – make his decisions.DRUG ABUSE IS THE SYMPTON – OF A DEEPER PROBLEM.Regina Gayle Oxford Is First Baby of 1973Regina Gayle Oxford, a seven pound, two ounce girl has been named the winner of the First Baby of 1973 Contest and is the recipient of the many fine gifts offered by Tonkawa merchants to the first baby born in the trade area.She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Oxford, 504 South Main and was born at 5:24 a.m. January 1 at Blackwell hospital.
