Valedictorian, Salutatorian Announced
Top scholastic students of the 1960 graduating class of Tonkawa high school were announced today by Joe Hubbell, principal.
Robert Easterling 17, son of Dr. and Mrs. V. R. Easterling, 601 E. Park, is the valedictorian of the class. Robert graduated with a grade average of 3.94 based on a 4.0 grade system.
Salutatorian of the 1960 graduating class is Carol Veith, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Veith, Route 2. Miss Veith graduates with a grade average of 3.76.
She has been a member of the State Honor society for four years and a member of the National Honor society for the past two years.
Robert was a delegate to Boys State in 1959, has been member of the State Honor society for four years and the National Honor society for the past two years.
Joseph King Will Graduate From SW Seminary
Joseph King will be graduated from South western Baptist Theological seminary, Fort Worth, Tex., during spring commencement exercises May 13 at 9:30 a.m. in Truett auditorium on the seminary campus.
Dr. Theodore F. Adams, president of the Baptist World Alliance, and pastor of the First Baptist church, Richmond, Va., will be the featured speaker.
Of the degrees and diplomas to be conferred 11 will be given by the School of Church Music, 97 by the School of Religious Education, and 128 by the School of Theology. Son of W. R. King, 202 W. Grand, he is a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist university with the bachelor of music degree in 1960. He is scheduled to receive the master of church music.
Guest Present Program On Flower Arranging at Twentieth Century Meet
Mrs. Paul Brooks and Mrs. Carl Nardheim presented a program on flower arranging for members of the Twentieth Century Research club when they met Tuesday evening in the home of Mrs. Loren Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Brooks discussed the principles and basic designs of flower arranging and Mrs. Nardheim illustrated by creating several arrangements using various kinds of flowers and containers. They were introduced by Mrs. Clarence Helton, program chairman.
Mrs. Olin Walcher presided at the session when a dinner meeting was planned for May 24 at Hotel Tonkawa. The 7 p.m. session will feature installation of officers.
Mrs. Brooks expressed thanks to the club for their recent contribution of two teen-age books to the city library and a donation was made to the Tonkawa Youth Recreation fund. Mrs. J. W. Casper won the ...
