Doenges Gets Tonkawa Win
Tonkawa voters rode losing horses in the two major state democratic races, giving whomping majorities to favorite son William
C. Doenges for governor and Roy J. Turner for senate.
Turner, who won a runoff spot against Sen. Robert S. Kerr, received 345 votes to 207 for the senior senator. Doenges carried his hometown by garnering 385 votes, compared to 138 for Raymond
Gary and 43 for William O. Coe, the runoff winners.
Doenges got 139 more votes than his entire opposition here, although he ran third to Gary and Coe in Kay county. He carried all five city precincts by huge majorities.
Reunion of Wilson Family Held Sunday
Members and friends of the Bessie Wilson family held a reunion
Sunday evening at the Ponca City park. A picnic supper, honoring
Miss Ruth Wilson and her guest, Miss Dorothy Moran, both of
Kansas City, Mo., featured the reunion.
Those attending the event were Mrs. Bessie Wilson, Miss Ruth

Mrs. Ray Hostess To Baptist Circle
A regular meeting of the Eugene Hill circle of the First Baptist church was held recently in the home of Mrs. Charles Ray.
The meeting, which was conducted by Mrs. Otis Bowman, featured a lesson from the study book on “Prayer.”

Mrs. Olive Eaglin, Mrs. Harold Lyall, Jr., Mrs. Clifford Plummer and Mrs. J. S. Colwell.

Foos Promoted To New Job At Sequoyia Refinery
A Tonkawan, Danny R. Foos, 1011 North Seventh, was recently promoted from the position of yield accountant to supervise various phases of maintenance for the Sequoyia Refining Corporation,
Ponca City, it has been announced.
Foos was born in Enid, attended elementary and high school in
Jefferson and attended Northern Oklahoma college for two years.
He served three years in the US Army with the Army Security agency as a radio teletype intercept operator in the European theatre.
He has been employed at the Ponca City refinery since 1965 where he has worked in mechanical, warehouse and main ...
