Mrs. Wells Is Evening Hostess At NOC Bell Hall The newest addition to the dormitory personnel at Northern Oklahoma College is Mrs. Mary Alice Wells, evening hostess at Bell Hall.The Shilder resident applied for the job at NOC when her son, Carl, 18 enlisted in the Marines. Because she expresses a love for being with young people, Mrs. Wells decided to work for the college.Her greatest adjustment as a new dorm “Mom” is in staying awake all night, while the toughest assignment concerning her job is correcting any of the girls.When she received word that she had the job, Mrs. Wells was a little worried that the girls would not accept her, but “through the friendliness of young people” she has managed to turn what could be simply a job into a new life for herself.Smith, Smith Top Winners In Weekly FB Contest Two contestants in the Football Contest missed only one game, the Oklahoma State Texas Tech contest, won by Texas Tech, to mar perfect entries. Winners of first place, on the basis of the tiebreaker, was W. C. Smith, 304 West Congress. He picked the Bucs to win 28-14 and the final score was 27-24. He won $7.50 cash.Picking up second prize money of $5.00, also missing one game but not picking the tie breaker as well, was Mike Smith, 100 North Eleventh.Twelve entrants missed two games but Barbee Barker, 716 North 16th, Lawton topped all others in picking the tie-breaker and won third place money of $2.50.
