The Bible tells us of some strange happenings, but I believe that a donkey spoke and that a woman was turned into a pillar of salt. I am firmly convinced that water came from a rock, that a man’s ear that was cut off was reattached and healed. I certainly believe that three men survived a fiery furnace without any harm, and also that a man survived three days inside a sea creature and then went on a mission for God.
I firmly believe that the Son of God came to earth as a human, who lived, was crucified and buried and who came out of that grave three days later and then ascended back to heaven, who will one day “descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
There a many people who ridicule these miracles that we read in Scripture. They say that that we believe in superstition or fairy tales and not in real facts or science. However, I believe in God’s Word.
Now it is true, that if there is no God who created this universe and who is supernatural then the conclusion that all these miracles are false, that the Bible is factious, and that we who believe are merely deceived. However, if God does exist, if there is a God who is all-powerful and all-knowing then all this is very possible. God can do anything that is in harmony with his nature and character.
In fact, it takes faith to believe that God does not exist. That there are miracles (which are not actually supported by science) that created the universe. In reality, the highly irrational position is atheism. Atheistic evolution wants us to believe that matter came from nothing, yet no like this has ever been observed to happen naturally. They say that biological life came from non-living matter. Yet, this has never been observed or proven. Consider this, Christians are said to be crazy for believing in God and the miracles of the Bible, yet evolution would have us believe that water came from dry earth over millions of years.
