Dear Lyle: I want to say thank you to all the caring citizens and organizations of Tonkawa that have helped to make our town beautiful during the Christmas season.Of course our city workers who put up the downtown street garlands and stars and who work diligently find the right large tree for the center of our town and then put lights on it.The Historical Society and Heart in the Park appreciate Michael Gunerson for putting the red lights around the Labyrinth. David Scott who made, donated and has put the Star up on the Gazebo since 2017. Todd and Patsy Finn who put the 5 Ft. Wisemen in Centennial Park.A Note: Gene Dougherty made and painted the Wisemen in the mid 90’s and donated them to the Historical Society for the community to enjoy. Thanks to the Pride and Beautification committee who purchased the solar light flowers and placed them in the downtown planters and the park. Also the 4H club helped put the lights on the Gazebo.Special thanks to the citizens who have decorated their homes with beautiful yard displays and the citizens have out lined their roofs with lights and those who hang a star on the outside of their home. All and all Tonkawa citizens are caring and want to keep Tonkawa the shining star of Northern Oklahoma.Thank you, Melinda Glasgow ...
