Good week, Tonkawa! While I’m sure we are all still fairly exhausted from Homecoming, the world keeps spinning and Tonkawa keeps stirring with life.Homecoming was an entire success; Tonkawa not only beat OK Union 43-0, but also held several small competitions between the high school grades. Seniors won the hallways, assembly attendance, and service project, sophomores won sheets, and freshmen won the floats. Juniors? Well, better luck next year!Several alumni returned to THS for Homecoming to watch the performance not only of the football team but also the band and cheerleaders and also to see the crowning of this year’s Homecoming Queen and Captain: Adynn Ronald and Ryan Morgan. Congrats to them and the rest of the court!Let’s keep this enthusiasm through to this Friday when we play and (hopefully) beat Morrison!Cross country had a meet in Watonga on Saturday and will not have another until the 21st.Band went to Elgin on Saturday, earning a superior rating, first in 3A. They have a competition on Wednesday and one again on Saturday.Academic Bowl played in Newkirk and ended with a win against Newkirk, a tie with Morrison, and a tie with Pawnee. Districts are Monday of this week at Tonkawa, so wish the academic team luck! This is a short week with no school on Friday or Monday of next week!Hooray for fall break!
