Happy Homecoming Week! This is certainly an eventful time, so let’s jump right into it! Football endured a loss against Pawnee last Friday, but we are brushing that away and preparing for a spectacular game this Friday against OK Union.Cross country had a meet on Saturday and one this upcoming Saturday (October 7). We wish them all the best!Band is also quite busy. Last Wednesday, they took a superior rating and a second place home from Clinton. On Saturday, our band went to Enid and walked away with another superior. They have another competition on Tuesday and then one on Saturday. That is a lot, especially with Homecoming the night before! The academic team has four matches on Wednesday (Newkirk, Cleveland, Perry, and Pawnee) at Newkirk. Districts will be next Monday, so wish the quiz bowl team luck!Homecoming brings several traditions along with it. The dress up themes this year are: Monday–class color; Tuesday–dress like a teacher; Wednesday–twin or triplet day; Thursday–jersey day; Friday–Hoco shirts. Additionally, halls, sheets, and floats for each class have been constructed in order to celebrate Homecoming. Which class will win with the best of each of these? Time will tell!We welcome home our alumni and invite them to attend the annual alumni tea and assembly. The parade is quite anticipated also; the floats that the classes have been working on will be in the procession, along with our football team’s float and marching band and many more! Load up on candy and then head over to the football game to watch us crown Homecoming Queen and Captain and destroy OK Union!
