Hey Tonkawa!
Last week was an unusual week at Tonkawa schools. Monday, we did the normal studies of math, science and anything else you could think of Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with independent studies from home of ice storm survival skills. From my personal experience and talking to fellow THS students, we learned things these days ranging from building fires, to boiling water and making a cup of hot cocoa to stay warm, to chainsaw operating and limb hauling. Thursday, we returned back to school to then be out Friday for parent teacher conferences.
Our Friday night lights became a Saturday afternoon game. The boys played hard, but lost to Cashion. This week, the Buccaneer football team will be returning home to face Oklahoma Bible Academy on Friday November 6th. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Come out and support the Buc football team and cheer squad this week and catch the Pride of Tonkawa Marching band as they play their halftime show at the game!
With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, remember to be thankful for something every day. This week, I think we can all be thankful for power and the crews that restored it.
Everyone have a great week and ... Go Bucs!
