Hey Tonkawa!
This week I chose Hadlee “Rosie” Conaway as the Buc of the Week. Rosie is a scholar at Tonkawa Schools. She is hard working, goal oriented, and fun-loving. She brightens every room she walks into. Rosie is a senior this year who plans to attend college at Northeastern State University to become a speech pathologist.
I started off by asking Rosie what she missed most about school. She replied, “I miss my library aide hour the most. If we weren’t busy, several of us seniors would get together and play different games like cards or chess. It’s days like that I wish I was able to have more of. I then asked Rosie what her biggest accomplishment this school year was. After that, I asked Rosie what she was most looking forward to this year that got postponed or cancelled. She said that she, “Entered a statewide medical photography competition through her PTC’s HOSA (Future Health Professionals) Chapter and won third.” She would have traveled to Houston to compete this summer, however, it was canceled. But, congratulations on your amazing accomplishment!

What was the most upsetting part?” She replied, “I feel really disappointed about it all,” which I can agree with, “There are a lot of lasts I didn’t get to experience, or didn’t know I was experiencing at the time. My class and I have a running joke that we’re always getting the short end of the stick.”
I asked Rosie what she would have done differently on her last day of school if she would’ve known she wouldn’t be going back after spring break. Rosie said, “I would have liked to say goodbye to all my classmates. I wanted to walk the halls one last time with my friends and share our old stories and memories. I would have also liked to say thank you to my teachers for putting up with us kids and helping us grow into adults.” Losing our senior ...
