Hey Tonkawa!
I would like to start off by sending a big thank you to Cathy Ballard for mentioning my article at the service on Sunday. I would also like to thank Dianne Smith for posting my article on Facebook as well as everyone who liked, commented, and shared. I am glad that I brought some hope to our little community. Thank you all for supporting me!
The other day I started to fill out my calendar for next month. I realized that all of the things that I had previously planned had been canceled or postponed. I began to get really upset. My April calendar should have been decorated with baseball games, prom, and other exciting events. Instead, it was completely empty. I knew that things had changed over the past couple of weeks, but to see it in front of me was a whole different feeling. It all became real.
I’m sure many of you feel the same way. However, we cannot let it get the best of us. I quickly thought of other activities to write into the empty spots. The seemingly blank calendar began to fill up. You see, instead of focusing on the cancellations, we can come up with new and exciting things to do on our own. Be creative! Clean house, go on a walk, or spend time outdoors in your backyard. Stay positive!
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during these times. Be sure to wash your hands frequently, social distance, and pray!
