POTEAU, Oklahoma -- Matthew Stancliff had seven hits in Friday’s doubleheader leading the Mavs past Carl Albert 12-8 and 18-12 in Poteau.
In the doubleheader, the sophomore second baseman had seven hits, nine rbi’s, five runs scored, a home run, triple, and stolen base.
The Mavs (35-16) are now 16-10 in league play while Carl Albert (27-21) fell to 12-14. The Mavs are one game behind NOC Enid for second place in the conference.
In Game 1, the Mavs built an early 10-4 lead and held on for a 12-8 win.
