The Tonkawa Alumni Military Project has only four people that qualify as Veterans of Foreign War to add to the panels at the Event Center. Funding from ConocoPhillips grants for the panels has ended. For that reason and because there are too few additions, new panels will not be made at this time. The four who qualify are Robert Willis, Daniel Ryan, Charlotte Cooley, and Brian Conaghan. They are on the high school Wall of Honor. WWI and II veterans will also appear on the high school web page. Cooley was a nurse in WWII and Korea. Ryan was at the liberation of Dachau in WWII and also served in Korea. More information for those two would be appreciated. Conaghan is also a WWII vet. He served two enlistments, first as a heavy weapons crewman and then in intelligence. Willis served in Special Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan as a Farsi Linguist. We are also searching for info on Bill Speer, Monty Black, and Joyce Gessel. The military registry is on the high school web page. Anyone who was in the military and graduated from THS is eligible to register for the Wall of Honor. Web page at www.tonkawaallstars-military.com.
