OSU wheat varieties are the most planted in Oklahoma

STILLWATER, Okla. – The top seven wheat varieties planted in Oklahoma in 2024 were developed at Oklahoma State University, according to the USDA- National Agricultural Statistics Service’s annual report. This is the 10th consecutive year that OSU varieties have ranked in the top seven varieties planted statewide.

In a recent CNN interview, Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski hinted that he she is considering leaving the Republican Party. Murkowski has been a long-time opponent of former President Donald Trump and is struggling with the idea of Trump leading her party. Murkowski is not the first to leave the party over a personality, and historically speaking, switching parties has even brought great reward.

The Tonkawa delegates to the 2024 American Legion Auxiliary Girls State have been selected, Nancy Appleman announced this week. Delegates are Kate Owen, Kalli Gilbert, Noel Combrink, and Reid Randall. All of the delegates are currently completing their junior year at Tonkawa High School.

Hello again, Buc Nation! For many students, this is a much anticipated week! On Saturday, April 6, Tonkawa will hold prom and after prom, which will keep students occupied far into the night. In other news, baseball plays at Woodland (4/1) and Pawnee (4/4) and at home against Glencoe and Pawhuska both on 4/5. There is a track meet on April 5th at Ponca City. Many students will head over to NOC on the 3rd to take interscholastic tests for specific classes. Wish the participants luck! It’s National Poetry Month this April—challenge yourself to read a poem or two!

NOC regents provide presidential search timeline

Following an executive session for the purpose of discussing the employment including evaluating candidates for the position of the President of Northern Oklahoma College at Wednesday’s meeting in Stillwater, the Northern Oklahoma College Board of Regents voted to hold a special Board of Regents meeting on May 15 including an executive session.
