Cheerleading tryouts slated March 12

Tonkawa midhi and high school cheerleading tryouts will be held Friday, march 12. the mid hi will begin at noon and the high school at 1 p.m. tryouts are closed.

City-wide Garage Sales April 3

The Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce announces their annual “SPRING” City Wide Garage Sales, Saturday – April 3, 2021 beginning at 7:00 a.m. and continuing throughout the day. Forms can be picked up at the Chamber office, request one by email (info@tonkawachamber.org) or download form from our website www.tonkawachamber.org. Deadline is Noon, Friday, March 26, 2021. Maps and listings of each sale will be available at the chamber office, in the Tonkawa Newspaper, and most businesses on Friday & Saturday. Ribbon cutting set March 18

A ribbon cutting will be held thursday, March 18, at noon at the Tonkawa Medical Dispensary, 1909 E. North Avenue.

Ministerial Alliance needs your help

For decades the Tonkawa Ministerial Alliance has been able to serve those in need with utilities, groceries and emergency travel and lodging. However, due to COVID restrictions, the group was unable to have its two annual Easter and Thanksgiving fundraisers in 2020 and its funds are running out. With the recent freeze, utility bills will be higher and at the present moment, the alliance will be unable to help Consider helping serve this community by donating to the Tonkawa Ministerial Alliance. Every dollar helps keep the head and lights on, according to President Josh Reese. Make checks to christian Life Church or donate online at Tonkawaclc.com/giving and select “Ministerial Alliance.” or mail them to P.O. Box 486.

Town hall forum slated March 18

The Chamber is sponsoring a Town Hall Forum for the City Council election. It will be held from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, March 18 at the First National Bank Heritage Room. The public is asked to send their questions to the chamber office (102 E. Grand) by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2021.

Get your Tonkawa Buc face masks!

A new shipment of Tonkawa Buccaneer face masks are available at the Central Office at the Tonkawa Mid-Hi/Highschool site. Masks may be purchased for $10 each Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm. Go Bucs!!

No computers at library

Until further notice, the Tonkawa Public Library will no longer offer access to public computers. This is a precaution taken to keep both the patrons and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The library building is open only for those wishing to check out or return materials, fax, or have copies made. The library building is not available for the following activities: Sitting, resting, chatting, studying, meetings, cell phone use, laptop or tablet use.
