Mike Smith of Tonkawa finishes first and wins $10 in the weekly Tonkawa News Football Contest this week.Second and $7 goes to Martha Parker and third place and $3 goes to Tracy Summers.Smith and Parker tied with two misses. Smith won first because he was closest on the tie-bareaker between Fairview and Woodland. He picked Fairview to win 27-28, just 22 off the actual 27-6 final score. Parker picked Woodland to win 36-38, 31 points off.Several missed three games. Tracy Summers was closest on the tie-breaker picking Fairview to win 14-28, just 9 points off.Others missing three but farther off on the tie-breaker included Chuck Neeley, Shelly Martin, Dawn McGaha Joshua and Cochanna Parker.The annual Holiday Football Contest will come out next week Dec. 21.Entries should be submitted to The News office at 126 E. Grand by noon Friday each week during the regular season.Prize money is $10 for first, $7 for second and $3 for third. Winners will be announced in the following week’s edition. Entrants are urged to circle a winner for each game and fill in the tie-breaker score. Be sure your name is on the entry.Winners are urged to pick up their cash at the office, 126 E.
