Tonkawa midhi football teams ended their seasons on a winning note Monday night.The 8th graders beat Morrison 22-14. They finish up the year 5-2. The seventh graders finished their season 3-0 a week ago Monday, beating Newkirk 24-0. Eighth graders beat the Tigers 46-38.In Monday night’s game, Carter Lopeman passed to A.J. Johnson for a 27 yard touchdown. Maddex Ewy hit Lopeman for the PAT pass After the Wildcats narrowed the gap after a 76 yard pass play, Asher Saludares returned the kickoff 56 yards for a score. Ewy again passed to Lopeman for a two point conversion, upping the Bucs’ lead over Morrison 16-6. That’s the way it stood a halftime.Morrison once again narrowed the gap to 14-16 midway through he third quarter.In the fourth quarter, Carsten Campbell ran for a 37 yard Tonkawa TD. The PAT run failed.That was the final score, making it a 22-14 Buc win. Lopeman intercepted two Morrison passes, one that sealed the win late in the ball game.Pawnee resultsThe seventh graders beat Pawnee 24-0 with Kamden Sparks catching a Ewy pass. Bodie Swords ran for the two point conversion. Racyn Mayo scooped a Pawnee fumble and ran it across the goal-line from 50 yards out. The PAT was a Ewy pass to Isaac Blueback. The final TD was a Sparks 35 yard reception from Ewy, who also passed for the PAT to David Camp. Mayo and Remi Palmer both made fumble recoveries. Tackle leaders were Mayo and Palmer.In the 8th grade game, Tonkawa won 38-16. Scoring for Tonkawa were A.J. Johnson 40 pass from Ewy with the PAT a pass from Ewy to Lopeman; Asher Saludares 30 yard TD run; Ewy 1 yard sneak for TD with PAT pass from Ewy to Brogan Wano; Johnson 10 yard TD run with PAT pass from Ewy; Johnson 10 yard TD run with PAT pass from Ewy to Lopeman; and Saludares 25 yard TD run with Johnson run for PAT.Junior Camp, Ewy and Lopeman all had interceptions. Tackle leaders were Johnson and Campbell.
